Salary Range:             $51,700 - $64,625 (commensurate with experience)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The training manager in conjunction with department managers is responsible for improving the productivity of an organization's employees. This position is responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all employees. The training manager assesses agency-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives, identifies, and arranges suitable training solutions for employees or business units. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

  1. Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the agency.
  2. Proposes training and development programs and objectives.
  3. Develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  4. Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  5. Modifies programs as needed.
  6. Develops 'train the trainer' programs and coaches others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.
  7. Designs and develops HR training programs for management and employees.
  8. Reviews evaluations of training courses, objectives and accomplishments
  9. Assesses effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.
  10. Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee trainings.
  11. Develops and monitors spending against the departmental budget.
  12. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  13. Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the Human Resources staff.
  14. Performs other duties and works on projects as required.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • The employee must be able to carry a 15 to 20 pound load
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel

This position requires up to less than 10% travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Five years of experience.
  • At least Three years of ASAP experience.
